Connect an app
Your employee reading a real account — the difference between advice and work.
The steps
- Connect when the work asks, not before — Don't connect ten tools on day one. When a run or a conversation needs an account — "connect Gmail so I can triage your inbox" — that's the moment. The ask tells you exactly which permission is worth granting.
- Approve the access — Open your employee's **Apps** tab, or **Settings → Apps** for the whole workspace. Pick the platform and approve access in the window that opens — you're signing into the real service, and you can revoke it there any time.
- Verify it worked with one real question — Back in chat, ask something only the live account can answer:
> Now that you can see my {Gmail / Shopify / CRM} — what changed in the last 7 days that I should know about?
A concrete answer proves the connection. A vague one means it's reading nothing — check the Apps tab shows the account as connected.
You should see
The app listed as connected on the employee's Apps tab, and a chat answer that quotes real data from it.
If it didn't work
It says connected but answers like it can't see anything
Disconnect and reconnect the platform — an expired authorization can still display as connected. If it persists, ask the employee to list its connected accounts; the answer shows what it can actually reach.
