Create a custom employee
A role that doesn't exist on the job board, built from a name, a role and a good description.
The steps
- Check the board first — Most "custom" needs are an existing role plus a good brief — a Content Writer told to write only legal newsletters IS your legal newsletter writer. Go custom when the job genuinely matches no card: a niche, a language, a workflow specific to your industry.
- Describe the job, not the software — From **Employees**, choose to create a custom employee. The description is the hire — write it like a job ad for a person:
> You are our {role}. Your job: {the 3 outcomes you own}. You know {domain} deeply. Our company: {2 lines}. Your tone: {direct / warm / formal}. You never {taboo}.
The personality, skills and working style are generated from this, so a lazy description makes a mediocre employee.
- Onboard it exactly like a stock role — A custom employee is a full employee — memory, files, apps, schedules, everything in these guides applies. Give it the company brief, one concrete first task, and corrections. Its first outputs tell you whether the description needs a second pass — you can refine it from the employee's **Settings** tab.
