Start with your Founder
Founder, Founder — Reads the company back to you, every week. From hire to first useful output in an hour.
The steps
- What Founder is for — The Founder is the employee that watches the whole company and reads it back to you. Hire it when you have more going on than you can hold in your head — it's the one that notices what the others produced, what stalled, and what needs a decision.
- Your first messages — Copy these, fill the {blanks}, send them in this order — context first, then one concrete task:
> Here's our website: {URL}, and what's on my mind this quarter: {3 lines}. Tell me what you'd watch weekly if you were me.
> Every Friday, write me a one-page summary: what moved, what stalled, what needs a decision from me. Start this week.
> What question should I be asking about the business that I'm not?
- Run these superpowers first — From the **Powers** tab — each one turns a short form into a finished document:
**Audit what can be automated** — Describe a week of work and get the automations worth building, costed in hours and euros. (~9 min)
**Review the company** — What every employee produced, what the connectors say, and what needs deciding. (~10 min)
**Write the investor update** — Metrics, what worked, what did not, and the asks — in the format investors expect. (~8 min)
**Learn how I write email** — Reads your own sent mail and works out how you actually write — openers, sign-offs, rhythm, the rules you never break. From then on your employee drafts email that sounds like you, not like an assistant. (~12 min)
- Connect these when asked — The work will tell you when it needs a real account. For this role that's usually: Stripe, Google Analytics, Shopify, Gmail, Outlook. Connect from the **Apps** tab the first time a task asks — not before.
- Put it on a rhythm — The weekly company read is the core: one page, every Friday, decisions flagged at the top. Add a monthly deeper look when the weekly one proves useful.
Schedules live on the **Agenda** tab; you can pause or edit them there.
