Hours Saved
Hours saved is the headline ROI metric for AI workforce — the count of human work hours that didn't have to happen because the AI did the work.
Hours saved is the metric your CFO actually cares about. It's computed by counting completed AI outputs and multiplying by the human-time benchmark per output. Honest accounting subtracts the human review time the AI now requires (approval gates, escalations, eval).
Example
AI Bookkeeper categorizes 800 transactions/month at 0.5 minutes/each saved = 6.7 hours, minus 1.5 hours human review = 5.2 hours saved/month.
How OpenLabor uses it
OpenLabor shows net hours saved per employee per week — accounting for the human review time the AI introduces.
Is hours-saved double-counted across team members?
Only if you're sloppy. Attribute each hour saved to the role that would otherwise have done the work.
