Chase every failed payment
Point Stripe at one URL. Every payment that fails gets answered in your name — with a message that fits why it failed, because an expired card is not a bad payer.
Run by Accountant.
What you fill in
- The name you bill under
- What the customer already sees on the invoice. A payment message signed with a name they do not recognise reads as a scam and gets deleted.
- What should happen when a payment fails?
- Leaving it for you is the safe start — nothing goes out in your name until you have read one. Moving to sending later is one edit.
- Where they update their card
- Your Stripe customer portal link. Left empty, the message points at the invoice the failed payment already carries.
- How should it sound?
- How long before the reminder?
- Stripe is retrying the card by itself across this window. Reminding sooner than three days means writing to someone whose payment is about to go through on its own.
- Never promise this, never threaten this
- Required, because this one writes about money in your name with nobody reading it first. Whatever you would not let a new hire say to a customer who is late goes here.
What happens when you start it
- Read the failed payment
- Work out why it failed
- Write the message that fits the reason
- Send it or leave it as a draft
- Log it and schedule the reminder
- Stripe — optional
- Gmail|Outlook|AgentMail — optional
What does "Chase every failed payment" do?
You fill in 6 fields — the name you bill under, what should happen when a payment fails, where they update their card, how should it sound, how long before the reminder and never promise this, never threaten this — and an AI Accountant takes it from there: read the failed payment, work out why it failed, write the message that fits the reason, send it or leave it as a draft, log it and schedule the reminder. You can close the tab — the run continues on the server, and what lands is a finished file in your Content, not a conversation to read back.
Who runs it, and how long does it take?
The AI Accountant — hire one and this comes with it, with nothing to install or switch on. A run takes about 2 minutes and you are told when the file lands.
What do I need to connect first?
It works better with Stripe, Gmail, Outlook or AgentMail.
