Set up the answering machine
A real phone number, answered day and night: every message transcribed, qualified and waiting in chat.
Run by Receptionist, Support Agent.
What you fill in
- Where should the number be from?
- What should it say when it picks up?
- Optional. Leave it empty and your employee writes one from what it knows about the business.
- A human to hand urgent callers to?
- Optional. When the line cannot help, it transfers here instead of just taking a message.
- Questions the line may answer on its own
- Optional. Empty, the line only takes messages — the safe default. Filled, it answers these questions, and ONLY these, in your words.
What happens when you start it
- Check the line
- Pick a number
- Write the greeting
- Go live
- Hand over the keys
What does "Set up the answering machine" do?
You fill in 4 fields — where should the number be from, what should it say when it picks up, a human to hand urgent callers to and questions the line may answer on its own — and an AI Receptionist or Support Agent takes it from there: check the line, pick a number, write the greeting, go live, hand over the keys. You can close the tab — the run continues on the server, and what lands is a finished file in your Content, not a conversation to read back.
Who runs it, and how long does it take?
Receptionist or Support Agent, whichever you have hired — it comes with the role, with nothing to install or switch on. A run takes about 5 minutes and you are told when the file lands.
What do I need to connect first?
Nothing. This one works on what you type into the form, so a freshly hired employee can run it straight away.
